Abstract

Measles is a highly contagious disease   caused by a virus. tow   dose vaccine reduce off death related with measles is taker for children between 9 month – 24 months through routine immunization.

Although Availability of effective and safe vaccina the coverage of the second dose of measles its low consequential reason of disease death for children. This cross-sectional descriptive study was conducted to evaluate coverage of the second dose of measles in Dongola locality in the period from January 2021 to December 2022. The aim of the study was to evaluate coverage of the second dose of measles in Dongola locality. The sample size was 200 questionnaires. Samples were taken in a regular manner. The data was collected through a questionnaire that was distributed to mothers of children from 9 months to 24 months and then analyzed. Using the SPSS statistics program, the most important results reached by the study are The coverage rate for the second dose   in 2021 is 807 Per 1000 and The coverage rate for the second dose in 2022 is 856 Per 1000.The coverage rate for the second dose among the study population is 79.5%, and from local records for the year 2021, 80.8% and for the year 2022 85.6%. Most of the study population are mothers of children whose ages range from (30-45) years the health education was secondary.
